Ballad of a long haired country boy.

I was sitting in a bar on the south side of town. Had a whiskey and a couple of beers. Just sitting sipping smoking and thinking washing my cares away.
When a country boy sits down beside me . He says I just got out of county . And if you don’t mind I’d be much obliged if you’d join me for a drink.
We had one beer two shots a scotch and a water a shot and another beer. When he said hey fella if you’d like to have another let’s roll if you got the wheels.
We hit one bar two bar three on the south side and headed up towards the north.
But it was getting pretty late and I was starting to fade so I headed on out the door.
I was getting in my car and I was ready to leave when that country boy called me out. He said your welcome to leave but mister give me the keys. Then he pulled that big knife out.
He did his best aiming for my chest when I turned that knife around. I could hear him squeal as ten inches of steal went sawing right through his chest.
I got in my car and went driving. That country boy lay dying and the moral to the story ain’t a day I been sorry that long haired boy is dead.
